Tom & Ellie Chidester
Tom and Ellie Chidester have over 25 years’ experience in operating top-notch equestrian facilities, including 23 years at their present location, Hidden Valley Farm in beautiful Ridley Creek State Park. Over the years, they have established a record of excellence in facility management, quality instruction for both children and adults, and individual, personal attention to all of the horses boarded and in their care.
Ellie has been involved in the horse world almost from the day she was born. She possesses an innate gift of loving and being around horses. Ellie received her first very‑own horse as a Christmas gift when she was ten years old. It was then that her real passion evolved into what it is today. Accompanied by her cousins, Ellie began sharing three horses. As the years passed, horses had to take a back seat until the day she met her husband, Tom. Hearing Ellie proclaiming her love for horses, Tom realized that her passion would never die. Fulfilling her dream of continuing the ownership of horses, Tom bought Ellie their first horse after two years of marriage.
What started with one horse has now grown into a total of 35 horses, all housed in a well-kept environment suitable for both horse and rider alike. One visit to Hidden Valley Farm will convince you of Tom and Ellie’s dedication to excellence, and you will see how they take pride in everything they do – horses, lessons, boarders, students, and barn maintenance. Ellie especially enjoys watching her young students advance and seeing the happy faces on the children she teaches.
